A Bit About Us

Choose Respect Montgomery:

Choose Respect Montgomery is an initiative of the Montgomery County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council. Teen dating abuse is a pattern of physically, sexually, verbally, and/or emotionally abusive or controlling behavior in a dating relationship. One in three teens in the U.S. is a victim of  physical, sexual, emotional or verbal abuse.

The Domestic Violence Coordinating Council (DVCC) was established by the Montgomery County Council in 2006 with the mission of reducing the incidence of domestic violence and creating a safe community for families to live free of abuse.

The Montgomery County Family Justice Center:

Co-located in one space, the Montgomery County Family Justice Center (FJC) is a collaboration of public and private county agencies seeking to provide services to families impacted by domestic violence, in a family-friendly environment. The Mission of the FJC is to promote safety, well-being, and healing for victims of family violence.

The FJC is located in the “Eagle Building” at 600 Jefferson Plaza, 5th Floor, Rockville, MD 20852 (near Route 355, the intersection of Rockville Pike and Jefferson Street). It is directly in front of Richard Montgomery High School. The FJC is accessible by public transportation and is near the courts.
